There are several Big 5 game reserves in the area, the most popular being Hluhluwe Umfolozi which is renowned for rhino conservation.

Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park

The Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park is blessed with lakes, lagoons, swamps and an estuary. The rich waters are home to many species of fish, birds, over 800 hippos and 2500 crocodiles.

Zulu culture

The area has rich traditions that are steeped in wild game and war. You can get a glimpse into traditional Zulu life at the Dumazulu Cultural Village.
